The lengthy title of this book suggests it will help the reader achieve permanent weight loss, make peace with food, and create emotional well being for life. These are big promises, and one may be skeptical, but the book does provide a framework that should allow the reader – if genuinely motivated and willing to do the work required – to make it happen. The seven steps are a convenient way to organize what’s involved. It is not really about dieting, but about being realistic, making rational assessments, and taking the emotion out of the weight loss game. In simple terms, one must get their mind right to make it happen. Step one is to make a realistic assessment of one’s weight, and BMI alone won’t cut it. Step two is to undo the diet mentality. Great Book, Very Inspiring

This book is a wonderful insight into how you can take care of your health and love your body in order to lose weight. Dr Anu stresses that if you don’t shift your mindset, any changes in diet and lifestyle won’t last. Being someone who always struggled with some extra weight, I use to think that if I lose the weight, then I’ll be happier. But what I have learned is that you have to love yourself enough first in order to make positive changes in your life. I loved how the author shares her own past struggles with food and body-image and finally discovered a solution that worked. The book is well written and easy to understand. I have already started applying all the tools that I learned. Great book for anyone looking to get to the bottom of weight struggle
This book is filled with wisdom that can change your life forever, if you take it seriously and take the time to complete the exercises provided. (The link to the workbook doesn’t work directly – cut and paste – it works fine). Dr. Gupta knows what she is talking about and guides you through an entirely new approach to weight loss.

The book is not full of smoke and gimmicks. It is realistic and helps the reader face the issues of weight loss head-on. It explains the importance of taking responsibility and choosing to lose the weight.

She addresses a lot of important issues: Emotional Eating; Eating Only When Hungry (a principle I have known for years, but didn’t completely understand); Conscious Eating and Unconscious Eating; Fuel Food and Fun Food . . . the list goes on. It is remarkable.
