I was interested in this because, unlike other low cost external Phantom Supplies, this one did not use an external AC adapter for power...it had a built-in supply with a standard AC cable. Although it's not mentioned, the unit can be plugged in to anything from 110 to 220 volts, so it will work both in the US and Europe. A great idea.
In reality however, the unit fails to be able to deliver enough power to reliably supply many microphones or other Phantom-powered devices. Although it does indeed put out the necessary 48 volts at the microphone input, it can't provide the necessary current (in milliamps) to meet the typical Phantom specifications. Most Phantom Supplies are specified to supply at least 10 milliamps of current to a device. This unit can only supply about 3 or 4 milliamps before the voltage drops to an unusable level.
What this means is that while it may power some microphones sufficiently, there are quite a few that demand more current to operate...
I'm using it with one condenser microphone, and works very good, would be better if sell the device together with the cable to connect it to microphone, the good news is that works properly, it does not need transformer, you can connect it directly to AC connector... good choice!!!
I bought this power supply after returning one that had an external 12v power supply. The other unit was only supplying 18v of phantom power and my mic sounded very anemic with it. The Weymic unit provides a true 48v, works very well and the price is quite reasonable.
