Wilderness Poets strongly advocate for non-pasteurized foods, AND remain loyal to our regional growers (rather than importing Almonds for our Almond Butter). Note from our Almond supplier: "Our Organic Almond growers use water pasteurization which does not effect the almonds' ability to germinate. We've actually grown almond trees with our shelled Organic California Almonds in order to prove to ourselves the nuts are raw and viable. Our relationship with our California farmers - spanning more than two decades - supports the regional economy and helps build strong community." * If you would like Unpasteurized Almonds, we offer imported, Unpasteurized Italian Almonds in our Nuts & Seeds selection. For several years we were able to obtain a limited amount of Unpasteurized Almonds from California growers, though due to the high demand, we are no longer able to make these available.
