To best adhere to your surface, do not push the beverage down all the way to the bottom. Leave a 1/2 inch gap at the bottom between the beverage and the koozie bottom and then push down on the koozie (not the beverage) until the suction cups adhere to the surface. The suction koozie with your beverage inserted will now stay in place until you pull up on it to remove it. It is not necessary to use the suction cups if stationary.
