This beautifully crafted Karimba (also known as a kalimba, Mbira or Thumb Piano) is hand made from half a coconut shell with a beautiful wooden face, hand-carved with the image of a butterfly, lizard, dolphin, or turtle. Metal keys are suspended above the acoustic chamber and when plucked with the fingers or thumbs make a delightfully rich sound. This gorgeous mbira is great for use as a decoration, and makes a great educational gift for children.
