ZoomFinder to help choose your drawing subject both from real life or photographs. Works similarly to the view finder of camera. Move the ZoomFinder around over the object or scene while adjusting the size of the opening until you find the best composition. The ZoomFinder provides
2 opening shapes; rectangle and square. Slide the sheet through the holding track to change the size of your rectangle or square while maintaining the height.
Zooming in on your subject matter will eliminate parts that are not essential for presentation and focus on the main subject. Alternately, "zoom out" to include lots of information. Keep in mind that the essential part of presentation will be unnoticeable and not impressive.
Tips:
1. Avoid cropping a picture right after the tipoff the nose
2. Avoid putting the center of interest at the dead center of a rectangle
3. Avoid putting the dividing line in the mid portion of a rectangle
The Zoomfinder was developed by Dr. Hwang Nam Chang, MD. Dr. Chang is an accomplished watercolor artist who has been awarded by the American Watercolor Society, The National Watercolor Society as well as the Rocky Mountain Watercolor Society. He is an active member of the American Watercolor Society, the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society as well as the Rochester Art Club.
