Each pair of Black Berkey Elements lasts for up to 6,000 gallons before replacement is recommended. Black Berkey Elements may require replacement sooner based upon the quality of influent water. We recommend replacing Berkey PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic Reduction Elements after 1,000 gallons of use, under normal conditions.
INCLUDES: (1) Royal Berkey Stainless Steel unit (Upper, Lower & Lid), 2 Black Berkey Filters, 1 knob, 1 easy flow spigot, and 1 set of easy to follow assembly instructions. The Royal Berkey is constructed from High Grade 304 Stainless Steel, and can accommodate up to four Berkey Purification elements and four Fluoride filters. However, only TWO Black Berkey Filters are included and two Fluoride Filters. Berkey Filters provide the cleanest water, because they are super filters, also known as purifiers due to their ability to remove 99.99% of pathogens. Each (1) Black Berkey Filter Element has a lifespan of 3,000 gallons. That's an incredible 6,000 gallons for a two-filter system. This is possible because of the Black Berkey filter elements' unique ability to be cleaned up to 100 times using a 3M Scotch-Brite pad. Designed for small families, of up to four. With the two Berkey Filters installed the system can produce up to 4 gallons of filtered drinking water per hour.
