POLIO: POST-POLIO SYNDROME

Many still suffer from having had polio in the 1940s and 1950s. With no problems for years, post-polio syndrome strikes many now as they reach older age. Little by little a weakening of their muscles shows up once again. I am one of those people. I'll tell you my story, the before, during, and after.
I've found it surprising the number of people who are revealing they had poliomyelitis. They are active and appear strong and healthy, just like I did at their age. And maybe they won't experience this downslide. Who's to know?? We can only hope.
