On September 9, legendary jazz musician Herb Alpert will re-release 24 classic albums from his illustrious catalog. The albums were remastered from the original analog tape mixes by Grammy-winning mastering engineer Bernie Grundman, who was the mastering engineer on many of the Tijuana Brass and Alpert albums. All releases, several of which have been out of print for a number of years (in Europe, some have not been available in over 30 years!), will be presented with their original artwork, making this collection must-have for the Herb Alpert fan!

This album, the third album of the Tijuana Brass released in 1964, was a very important release in the TJB catalog. The biggest difference with this album was the fact that Herb Alpert started recording at Gold Star Studios and using Larry Levine as the engineer from this point forward. Levine, of course, was the engineer for Phil Spector's "Wall Of Sound" projects. The sound itself was a huge improvement from the "Lonely Bull" and "Volume 2" albums. Herb Alpert's impeccable arrangements are high caliber as well. Backed by members of the Wrecking Crew Alpert opens up the album with a rather rocking version of "South Of The Border". A classic TJB sound captures the bossa classic "Girl From Ipanema". Marimba man Julius Wechter contributes his first song for the Brass with his "Up Cherry Street".
