This is the 3rd book I've read by this author this week...all have been extremely fast reads and this one in particular had an interesting take on Negative Thinking...very different from anything else I've read. Because we believe our own negative thinking, it perpetuates...the profound takeaway is to begin to question our thinking instead of automatically assuming we're right all the time. (ok...I'll have to work on that...) Reminds me of a quote in Pollyanna (the 1960 movie) when she relates some advice from her late father, "When you look for the bad in mankind, expecting to find it, you surely will." Excellent strategy of changing your perspective, but I don't want to give it all away!
Another well written, easy to understand guide book by Doc Orman. I have quick anger and a negative disposition in my life and want to pro actively change the thought processes that create this dynamic. Docs book shows its a body trained response that requires thoughtful practice to re train your initial reactions. I finally understand the buddhist response of "know nothing"
I felt this book was an awkward read. I've read many self help/improvement books. This one didn't help me at all. The concept of accepting negative thoughts was counter intuitive and confusing but maybe I'm just being negative and that's the point of the book?
