'I looked down at the streets far below. Even from there I could see the difference between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The briskness of the Muscovites, their high fashion, the narrow streets. Petersburg was more relaxed in every way with wide boulevards well planned for human interaction.
I still hadn't made up my mind which one I liked best overall, but for rooftops it had to be St. Petersburg. There was no comparison. I looked up at the ledge I was holding onto by my fingertips and then back down at my feet hanging in space above the oblivious Muscovites.
My heart was pounding but that was normal.
I let go with one hand, my grip on the ledge with my other hand solid and sure. My heart rate spiked and as I looked down below, the adrenaline rush set everything into sharp focus.

"What the hell are you doing?"
A strong hand clamped around my wrist. Some idiot who thought he was rescuing me.
"Let go of me!" I shouted up at the sky. The well-meaning fool's grip was forcing my fingertips off the edge.
I decided to let go.
"Shit. Give me your other hand."
"I said let go of me."
"Are you crazy? We're ten stories up, now give me your other hand before I change my mind."
His voice was deep, intense. He didnâ€™t sound scared. Not yet anyway. I placed both my feet against the wall and then pushed outwards.
"Shit!"
Now he was getting scared. That was all my body weight. Whoever he was, he was definitely no wimp, but of course I already knew that from the size of his hand and the strength of his grip. Otherwise I would never have tried a stunt like that, after all, I love heights, but I donâ€™t have a death wish.
"Don't do that again. I can bring you up but not if you're trying to pull me over with you."
I looked up and saw his face looking out over the edge.'
